The material is the soft and stretchy knit material, but feels reasonably weighty and tightly knit. There will be some further stretching with this kind of material with wear, but it feels like the material is substantial and will hopefully retain it's shape, but I will hand wash it. The fit is good and more consistently sized in arms, waist, hips, and length than many other t-shirt dresses on Amazon which I have bought. I am 5'8" and the dress comes where I was hoping it would, about 4 inches above my ankle. I will buy more than just this one if it holds it's shape during washing. Delivery was prompt.
